Excluding Halo, this might be my least favorite thing they've ever released.

no heroes is pretty weak compared to their other albums. this is def on the weaker side of converge tho agreed. at least after 1 listen. gotta play it some more and see where it lands but i can already tell i like axe and all we love much more

I like this over No Heroes and All We Love. I think it's as good as Axe to Fall and I'm getting some You Fail Me vibes from some of the slower cuts. I just think the pacing is kind of odd on this album, to me it doesn't flow as well as their other work.

yeah i like how someone described the flow as waves. i found that very fitting. i think it’s a really well put together album and track list. also just the way thousands of miles between us and leads into reptilian somehow makes that song so much better. i understood the reservations and criticism about it before (despite liking it myself) but in the context of the album i think it really works.

"He holds sway over mortality with a wink and a flurry, almost channelling gallows humour"
Lol. That's some highfalutin nonsense.

The flow was fine on ATF & almost perfect on AWLWLB (overall I prefer the former despite this difference but it’s close). Not sure what I make of the flow here yet, I just didn’t hear amazing songs. It’s definitely cohesive though, can’t deny that.

@ sitar - he's a skilled drummer who channels a sense of danger, to the point where it's almost morbidly funny. like a sword swallower who takes satisfaction in the gasps of the audience, or an acrobat who can do flips as easily as walking. don't see what's pretentious about enjoying music that conjures 'out-there' descriptions

Coral Blue & A Glacial Pace are ‘like singles’ now? Not in the traditional sense. I think the album flows really well, I’m not saying this doesn’t it just hasn’t resonated with me yet.

i'm liking this, i'd say the 2nd half is stronger.
Under Duress, Arkhipov Calm and I Can Tell You About Pain are the weak part of the album. Arkhipov Calm is especially not good.
the t/t and Murk & Marrow are v good thoo
