The ooz is a fantastic album front to back. Logos needs more love. Also the new one honestly wasn’t terrible, just on some weird shit.

*accidentally steps on guitar*
Archy: yo play that shit again
|
| |
King Krule's entire career is built around being on some weird shit so thats more of a sell than anything
|
| |
The ooz is very rigidly structured for how atmospheric and narcotic it sounded. Not really finding much structure in the new one which is what my ears require, but I need to give it more listens to be sure.
|
| |
Are you trying to describe 'feedback'? (re the previous comments)
|
| |
i dunno dude "rigidly structured" is possibly the last thing i'd describe this as but i can't compare just yet
|
| |
There is intention behind nearly every sound on the Ooz. You can tell he outlined it all ahead of time and had a solid idea for each part of every song. Came into the Ooz with a gameplan.
|
| |
having intention doesn't equate to rigid structure
|
| |
no I’m describing the sound of taking your electric guitar and smashing it on a wall, in 4/4 time.
|
| |
the entire album sounds like its slowly melting off the bones and the lethargic looseness of it all is like, 90% of its charm
|
| |
Cellular, Alone, Omen 3, and (Don't Let the Dragon) Draag On are all more straight forward, linearly structured tracks than virtually anything on here...
|
| |
But it’s also not off the cuff studio jams. Every instrumental idea is placed at a very specific point in the songs, and I’d bet when he plays them live they sound pretty similar to the album recordings.
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0
When does the new album officially release?
|
| |
I mean just listen to the album my man. There are multiple songs I could see being straight up excepts from live studio jams.
|
| |

I don't really get your point. Its not as if the new album is "off the cuff studio jams either" so thats a weird metric. This entire argument hinges on assumptions...
Anyways, regardless, "rigidly structured" is a terrible way to describe The OOZ
|
| |
I don't need to listen to the new album to think describing the OOZ this way is way off-base
|
| |
'Intentional'(ly sedative?) for sure, 'rigid' tho i just can't even comprehend
|
| |
I love arguing semantics!
I’m really just trying to say I see more melodic intention behind the ideas on OOZ than on Man Alive!
|
| |
in 4/4 time.
hmm, sounds intentional
I love arguing semantics!
ur right meaning of words is not important when describing things
|
| |

i accept this
tho the three singles still makes me skeptical
