The interludes aren't a waste of talent though. 'We Got the Power' is offensive in how much it squanders the talent on board. I mean, look at Coxon's guitar part for example: http://bit.ly/2pzTZyD

That track is offensive.

@ignika I define both by personal subjective interpretation. this is not an entirely objective review, because that's not how reviews work

The idea of Albarn having 40 more of these tracks up his sleeves gives me chronic fatigue syndrome.

"objectivity in art doesnt exist"

Don't really agree with this. I think the problem is a bit deeper than "everyone has different tastes so no tastes are better than the other".

It's pointless to blame anyone for being subjective thought, any judgement is subjective.

"is offensive in how much it squanders the talent on board"Legit point, but knowing that this track could have been so much more wont(shouldn't) ruin the fun for most people. That track is just like black humour, offensive for those who understand, yet quite enjoyable, at least for me.

@Rowan5215

Yeah sure but where are those moments of brilliance? Just relistened to Humanz and I sadly found nothin. Examples, pls Im jus trying to understand better

Ha OK, point taken. You know I've only listened to this album once. These are first impressions. Maybe I'll be back here in a year defending 'We Got the Power' as the track of 2017.

Interestingly enough, another album that I like which most don't, 'To The 5 Boroughs' by Beastie Boys, also ends with a track called 'We Got The' and features basically exactly the same message. It's also quite a terrible song. Lyrics:

"Who got the power to make a difference?

Who got the power to make a change?

Who got the power to make a difference?

We got the

We got the

We got the"

We Got The Power is blatantly bad and completly stupid. I doubt that I'll change my mind about it.

"Never again should we use the A-bomb

We need an international ban on

All WOMDs gone

We need a multilateral disarm"

Jesus, RIP MCA but those couplets are completely wack.
