hate to say it, but this has actually grown on me a bunch lately

Haven't jammed this since around it's release date. Easily my disappointment of 2016.

^Yeah man, this band has always been a guilty pleasure of mine, but even I have to admit that this is pretty weak. The only songs I find myself going back to are Marigold, Flatline, and maybe Absolomb sometimes. It feels like not a lot of effort was put into this thing.

tbh I feel like the best stuff here is among the band's most ambitious, it's just surrounded by a lot of guilty pleasure "ah, fuck it, let's see what we can do with this" tracks
which I've increasingly enjoyed over time but I'm just gonna face the evidence and admit I'm a Periphery fanboy at this point

The vocals are shit, too. Seriously, Spencer's bitchy, whiny vocals just don't mesh with this type of music at all.

i can't understand why he sings like that, and why the bands accepts it

Worst part about the band, agreed. That guy is awful for this kind of music. He should just try to resurrect Escape the Fate (they still ded?) If he wants to cash in.

or he could not strain so much while singing :v

Amazing performances but so many songs are 3 minutes too long, making for a pretty boring album.
I doubt they'll ever reach P1 or P2s heights at this point

his screams have vastly improved but p1 spencer was best spencer. no over enunciating or going "look how good a singer I am now guys", he just sang the fuckin words and it was great

I actually gave p2 a one time listen sometime over the summer and thought it was 2.5-3 territory

P1 just barely ousts this though imo

I love all their stuff but some stuff on P1 just doesn't have the emotional, colorful vibrancy that this album has.
