Ill have to try those again. It just rubbed me wrong from the start, all of the riffs came off as very derivative and unoriginal to me. It was a long time ago, maybe ill give it another chance.

The riffs are meant to be more a cohesive unit on Of Breath and Bone rather than stand out their own, that might be why you didn't like them previously. Give it another try and see what you think!

I'll give it another spin with that in mind, good call.

first half of this album is damn near perfect. Second half is still taking some time.

Stone's Reach is probably still the pinnacle for their sound. Haven't even listened to "Of Breath and Bone" yet.

whoops

I agree, the first half of the album is much stronger, but the The Smoke of Many Fires makes up for the lull.

I say this is easily their best. And The Smoke was also my favourite song of last year.

this album would be a complete and utter masterpiece with a better mixing/mastering job, it's far too compressed and flat. not unlistenable by any means but it would take this album to the next level of enjoyment for me because musically it is ridiculously strong

that said, they released vinyl remasters of both of breath and bone and stone's reach and both sound fantastic, i really hope they do the same for this album
