yeah I love Burn The Witch

bit of an outlier stylistically but kicking a quiet album off like that might actually be better than AMSP starting off with something subdued and staying that way and then feeling like it never really got off the ground YA KNOW

Yeah the more I listen the more I think Burn the Witch works very well as an opener. The song itself has also grown on me. I agree with Titan that it has an awesome vocal performance. The way Yorke sings "We know where you live" is amazing.

I haven't got a problem with the way it ends, either. It never sounded to me like something that was building and then not delivering, it feels climactic in a tense sort of way to me.

The ending is fine as it is, they could have gone for an epic ending by letting the strings go nuts but as the opener I don't think they were going for something like that.

"A low flying panic attack"....it sweeps up everyone into a fight or flight response, a lynch mob mentality: "Stay in the shadows... Cheer at the gallows....This is a round up."

I have it on good, and reliable authority that "A Moon Shaped Pool" is the much lauded Radiohead's LAST NEW album. Haters rejoice!

Nicely written review as usual. Album just seems kinda uneventful to me. Its pretty. And relaxing. But not much beyond that. I'll give it a few more spins.

I've just started listening to this in reverse order and it sounds even better... I love Burn The Witch, but it sets the wrong tone as the opener.
