It's not good bro. The pioneers all being whittled away. The next few years will be a graveyard of magic.

He died last night.
He never got to see Monday.

somebody else took his place, and bravely cried, "I'm a blackstar"
except, there's no one who can take Bowie's place

Irreplaceable indeed. They all are. Stones, Floyd, Zep, The Who, Macca, Clapton. The magic.

Innuendo wasn't that great to be honest compared to Blackstar. Blackstar is more like Closer by Joy Division due to the similar themes of mortality.

David Bowie is such a crazy and creative bastard.
He named his latest single "Lazarus" and makes the music video of himself dying in a hospital bed KNOWING that he'll die any day in real life.
What a way to be remembered, if only he could pull an actual Lazarus and come back...

I usually try to leave out context when rating a record, but goddamn it, "Lazarus" and "I Can't Give Everything Away" hit me harder now than any song has in a while.
