Lol even Opeth aren't self-indulgent enough to play only new material live

Finally listening to this on vinyl now. Plays like pure gold, well worth the $35

i find it inefficient as well, especially with the fact that CD's sound JUST AS GOOD

CDs really don't sound just as good if you have a quality, analog pressing. It's not even close.

If your setup is good the difference is quite vast.

not really pleb.....i listen on a well coordinated sound system and i must disagree with you.....i will say that vinyl only stands a chance when listening on some quality equipment.....the cost difference on top of it ends this dilemma

cd's sound just as good on mine if not better

Even mediocre setups the difference is noticeable. Note decay is a huge improvement on vinyl.

vinyl enthusiasts are just convinced the sound's better, there is basically no difference on the same audio setup

123. Plus, with vinyl you get surface noise, which is nothing but a glorified flaw in the technology.

we can certainly agree to disagree, but when it comes to the sound quality, there isn't much of a difference between a cd and a vinyl....that is a fact

I think it's personal preference. I like to collect vinyl because it looks cool and is a hobby and makes it more of an event when you really sit down to enjoy an album with nothing else going on but overall I mostly listen to music via MP3 on the go.
