I don’t know why people who listen to music inherently must be an expert on how mastering works. I’ve had people explain some basics but I just don’t understand how it works. It’s just not a big deal to me to turn the volume down or up lol

Like not everyone has the ability in their brain or ears to pick up on the loudness war or any other audiophile and/or technical inner workings of music. For me, the music either sounds great or it doesn’t. Or if it’s not pitch perfect production, I either turn it up or turn it down. There’s nothing wild about that.

prod has definitely affected my enjoyment of music in the past but it is rare. my issue is on some albums, the mixing is done in such a way that turning it up to max volume still doesn't sound nearly loud enough. that's a bit of an issue for me with some albums
