There's plenty of people that genuinely despise Swift's music, and that's fine, but it amuses me how many people call her awful but then say they've never listened to her albums. Oh, I listened to that song about bleachers and cheer captains and football teams doesn't make you eligible to comment on her music. There's this overwhelming sense of needing to protect one's masculinity that I just don't understand.

Or it may be the fact that this is mostly appealable to 14 year old teenagers like her dumb lyrics would suggest instead of mature people who shouldnt give a single fuck about this.

It's really unfortunate, but a reality that's unlikely to ever dissipate. Swift isn't part of the group of talentless pop stars out there. She can sing. She can write. Her lyrics are not anywhere near as bad as most metal bands. didn't dig this as much on the second spin. nothing I really dislike except for Bad Blood. Shake It Off is my favourite and wouldn't have sounded too out of place on Janelle Monae's album last year.
