I just get incredibly irritated with the beat during the verses. As for the chorus that is the part I like.

Blew their load on the first three tracks. Those could possibly Death Grips's best yet. Then it falls in a mediocre pit and never recovers.

I'm going to relisten to the album. I really wanted this to be The Money Store's equal. Because when it starts it sounds like it should be. Maybe it's a grower. No Love Deep Web and The Money Store definitely were.

I purely meant in terms of quality, I assure. None of Death Grips's albums sound similar. And I respect them for that. I didn't mean that I was comparing it to The Money Store in the way it sounds. Those first three masterpiece tracks don't sound anything like anything off of The Money Store and I honestly think they're the most intricate songs Grips has done yet. Then This is Violence Now kicks in and it's just bleeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

yeah some songs on here really are a futile effort from death grips in comparison to the first few tracks

I respect such an opinion, but can't share it. At least not right now. Tracks 4-9 just feel like filler to me. I don't want to call it that, because I never thought Death Grips would resort to filler, but that's just what they feel like. They have some really solid beats sprinkled throughout, but they're really just that, beats. They don't hold up as songs for me.

Bootleg even feels like an intermission.

Whatever I Want is a comeback for sure though.

Yes deathschool you definitely make a valid point regarding some of the tracks seeming to act as 'fillers' throughout the album Government Plates. However I feel that you partly feel this way towards these tracks because from Death Grips, you're expecting such an extreme and abrasive experimental sound. It took me a while, personally, to look past the fact that these more calm tracks don't have a lot of audio depth, and at the end of the day are just simplistic, catchy and great beats.

I think my takeaway tracks are "You Might Think...", "Anne Bonny", "Two Heavens", "Birds", "Big House", and "Whatever I Want".

The album is still original enough to give me hopes for their next release though.

I don't know. When I first heard Birds it kind of had me looking forward to a calmer Death Grips. I just don't think the album delivered.
