Nah Omaha. I really enjoy music. It's just that every single album I've completely fell in love with, I also fell out of love with. I mean I still love them death, but just not quite as much as I used to. Which is basically my entire 4.5 section.

If you mean objectively perfect, then I'm not even quite sure that's how we should approach it. I can find ~flaws~ in my 5 ratings, but I accept them and love the listen anyways because the experience is what's more important to me.
And Chipmunk I get that for sure, I just rarely bump things down because I feel that I fall out of love with them. I guess my stance is that that moment of infatuation more or less determines how good the music is, y'know? That moment it really clicks. Because any album will feel wrong in the wrong context, and who knows, maybe I'll come back to these albums in two years and fall back in love with them. Very interesting points though.

an extreamly influential album for the genre, or career of the artist(s). I use that system plus a couple that I just find perfect in my own right.

I try to go by musicality and how much I like the album. I don't even consider how influential the album is.

I guess I just was initially influenced by the rating system on here. Although I change how I rate albums from time to time, I have always felt like impact has a large amount to do with the album to me.

we do each have the power to 5 something, so it's counter-intuitive for every "5" to be universally a 5.
it would be nice to have graphs to keep track of album ratings when we change them. so we can see how we rated a specific album on any particular occasion.

a couple of you sound like you base your judgment of music on how influential it is, which is a little problematic considering a large part of why those albums are influential are because a lot of people like them!
