Fair enough. Azula vs. Zuko was amazing in its own right. Still, it's rare to see any amount of polyphony in a soundtrack. Plus I adore the Greatest Change, when it incorporates Aang's theme into them. I could agree they're both fantastic.

Actually all the finales had great music. I really loved Season 2's as well. And Season 3, Service and Sacrifice is a kick ass theme

Only a couple more weeks! Ugh to watch that preview or to not watch haha idk if I wanna know anything.

Also imo, season 1 starts pretty slow, but once we get to the Probending finals and on I really don't wanna stop watching.

well if you're talking about the clip i watched, there's literally no information revealed besides a confirmation that korra is dealing with some level of psychological trauma (which was obvious)

and yeah, the equalist arc is awesome, and i really did like the tarrlok arc. idk if my complaining confused the point, but i fucking love Amon and the equalists. that's why i hate season 1 so much, i really felt like they dumbed down the entire series with the way amon acted in the finale, and they completely ruined his character.

i don't know why they had to make Amon bloodbend korra and mako when he did such a good job dodging them before, it'd have been better if he just chi blocked them and took korra's bending. the plot twist of him actually being a bloodbender was great to me because it really tied things together, but then i wish he only used it as a necessary evil in eradicating bending. otherwise he would never use it. and the way he bloodbended the lieutenant was so dumb argh.

i felt like they took a very morally ambiguous antagonist, forced him to be a complete villain (meaning korra was completely in the right morally), and didn't do justice to the equalist cause (i know the president would be a non-bender, but that doesn't address the bender on non-bender gang violence, for example).

i also disliked the way korra's arc played out; the way she got both airbending and her other bending back felt totally undeserved.

but yeah if i didn't retroactively ding the entire season for a horrible (imo) finale, i'd agree with you that season 1 is pretty great, especially the equalist threat. i really liked episodes 10-11 (especially 10, meelo's fartbending aside, that was one of the best episodes of either show imo)

Yea bro everyone felt human in the finale. Even the way when Zuko said to ozai "you're lucky the avatar spared your life" and he just makes a "yeah yeah" type of noise with a guilty look.

That whole final scene though is amazing. I'm not usually one for love stories or anything but I'm so glad they ended up together in the end. The music as they kiss gives me straight chills.

Didn't they say that Azula ends up in a mental asylum?

Well she did go bonkers, so that'd make perfect sense.

I wonder what happened to Ty Lee...

Ty Lee became one of the Kyoshi warriors.

Yea her power got the best of her, so it'd definitely make sense for her to be in an asylum. Does that happen in the comics?

If you mean Azula I'm not sure, that's just what the writers said at comic-con a few years ago. Ty Lee became a Kyoshi warrior in the finale

Yea I know what happened to Ty lee. I also think that Zuko switching sides was the best thing the writers did. From the beginning I never got the gist that Zuko was a bad guy.

the comics are nice, only read a little bit but zuko and azula go out to find their mother. the results were...interest. you finally find out what happened after she told zuko to "never forget who you are."

Didn't she just have another family and not really care about Zuko or Azula anymore when they reunite? Or was it that they were all different people and couldn't really have a real familial relationship of any kind, and just parted ways again?

i could answer that question but it'd be spoilers for everyone

honestly the comics aren't very good. i guess the writing has gotten better and it's good for lore-building, but i'm still kind of annoyed that the A:TLA finale hints at zuko's mom and then we get the answer in fucking comic form. i was convinced for months that there'd be an animated movie about the search for zuko's mom.

and honestly i never really liked kataang or whatever, the romance in a:tla was always the weakest part imo. the last scene with them was cute i guess tho
