I think it's been better recently, I guess. When I first joined, I was a pop punk kid so I just stayed in those threads, and looked for any davey, knott, and sowing review. There weren't any metal elitist a to deal with except for the occasional lol pop punk! Type of fellow.

I haven't listened to the album but the review's analysis of race in this album doesn't quite add up. I find it odd that anyone would expect a rich black guy to provide racial commentary that isn't as shallow as Kanye's here apparently is. Kanye West is a really expensive image, after all, that I'm sure many hundreds of thousands of dollars of PR work have gone into---why would there be any authenticity in terms of racial analysis out of Kanye's mouth? Even if the lyrics are raw from emotion, it'd be so far removed from the teeth of actual racism that any bite of his words is neutralized anyways---and it's likely that a lot of what he says is just media construction of what Kanye thinks he should be talking about anyways (which, while honest, would still be artificial and entirely dependent on the media).
IMO it'd make far more sense to frame the racial analysis in terms of his lifestyle, where he's been removed from any institutional racism (employer discrimination, people prejudging you, etc.) due to his status as a celebrity. It wouldn't change the review's conclusion about his racial analysis but would provide a different cause as to why his analysis comes up short.
