It's fucked up how metal has more in common with jazz than anything else out there.

"Human was produced greatly, even though the bass, in the original recording, is not very audible. This is not a problem though, because it was masterfully fixed in the 2011 Remastered version of the album."

Any truth to this? I have the original and never noticed the lack of bass. But now I'm worried im missing out

When I play this album at work, one of the most respected technical death metal albums of all time, yet my co-workers want to skip it to play the latest Bring me the Horizon or Asking Alexandria... yuck.

Head boss is the only one who gets it. I work with a bunch of young kids, late teens early twenties. They know nothing unfortunately. They refuse to be introduced to anything I throw at them. I fuckin try.

I got into Death by listening to the remastered version of Human, and (please don't kill me) it is my definitive version of the album, over the original recording.

Human and Symbolic are Death's strongest albums imo, but you can't deny that their last album TSOP was their pinnacle of creativity, and that is a part of why I find Death's discography so mesmerizing: each album got better and more creative as they went on. I can only imagine how it would've been if Chuck was still alive.
