Power chords just don't excite me much anymore. A couple of experimental/proggy/artsy fartsy offshoots catch my interest here and there but anything straight forward or traditional doesn't really do it for me.

Most detuned riffs are power chords too, unless you are talking about Obscura where they went all crazy. I find the latter more interesting, yeah. Not really straight forward or traditional.

I think you totally missed what I said earlier, I said a few more unusual acts have caught my attention, nothing more conventional or traditional. Then there's the the whole aesthetic that mostly seems humorous to me now.
Even when I used to listen to more metal I didn't care for the scene much.
