I hadn't heard about the Mistabishi thing before. Just saw a pic of him... Just seems so obvious that they need to plug in the CDJs that are fucking hoisted up so the whole crowd can see them. If I was some (reasonably) big DJ that was faking it I'd make fucking sure I had all my shit covered.
The Guetta thing should be a bigger deal to me because he's such a big name, but it just seems so obvious, almost like I'd assume he was faking it even if there wasn't proof.
Anyways I like all the DJ discussion, I've always had a lot of respect for artists who can do interesting shit live. I've posted this vid before somewhere on here, and I've never been crazy about SBTRKT's productions (though I like him quite a bit), but this live vid has always seemed so cool to me:

It's mostly because it just looks like a genuine amateur vid of a real set, and not some display video where a DJ is showing off. Makes me really want to see him live.

My moments are mainly local; my girlfriend is good friends with many of the local DJ's, I hadn't
gone to the dubstep night so I was eager to check it out.
There were/are at least 3 DJ's there who don't touch their headphones, closer inspection showed that
the synch button was on and that, for two of them (a dnb and house/moombaton DJ's) they hardly ever
changed tempo. The third recently bought CDJ's but runs off his thumbdrive, which isn't bad but he
CANNOT beatmatch. At all. The transitions are horrid.
As a disclaimer I'd like to say that I'm extremely judgmental of DJ's, myself included.
Edit: the house DJ also couldn't even carry one a conversation while mixing, I mean come on man
you're not even beatmatching; if I can talk to people and work you had better be able to hardly work
and talk to people.

The wubstep thing is dying off a lot faster than I thought it would.

In my town you can see people's taste evolving, the events with only straight wubs are far less populated and vocal, melodic nights are increasing in size.

The whole top forty thing is still alive and strong though.

Oh yeah, but tbh finding remixes of those songs and spinning them for packed nights is far more fun
that one might imagine.

YEAH! If only my older brother would stop blasting that stuff! He's 15 and thinks he's so tuff but I'm 12 and I know better! I'm not scared of him if he tries to hit me mom will kill him!

So sick of hearing about this twat, my friend is obsessed with him ughhh.
I don't know why they even call this dubstep I mean it sounds nothing alike to the other dubstep stuff kind of surprised it doesn't have its own name.
