God listening to Low is now just so incredibly sad. RIP Mimi.

Still a great album in the main. The problem preventing me from truly loving this more, is the fact Lullaby completely overshadows the rest of the material. One of those irritating situations where such an obviously highlight actually detracts from the experience in some regards

but then I probably only have this rated 4 BECAUSE of Lullaby

I’m confused

Lullaby is one of those Good Morning Captain/Monkey Trick/Comfortably Numb/Day in the Life (in a timeline where Sgt Peppers was a good album) where, yes, it is perfect and the best thing and the One, but also every other track creates a perfect context for it

I wish I could understand the love for Lullaby. Always thought Words, Slide, and Lazy were all much better and less bloated. It’s not a bad song, but it’s definitely one of the most overrated songs I can think of off the top of my head (altho you did namedrop Sgt Peppers, which is possibly the most overrated album oat)

The most astonishing thing about "Lullaby" is that despite its rather lengthy runtime, it never feels longer than around 3-4 minutes. I have no idea how they achieved this, but I just get immersed every time I hear it, and time flies by unnoticed. Magical.

This has become truly one of my favorite bands, it's been hard listening to their albums because I just keep getting hooked on individual songs lol

Yeah, these guys are (/were, RIP Mimi) rather good alright

this and HEY WHAT are by far my faves but I should admittedly spend more time with the giant middle part of their discog, some of which remains untouched

Words, Slide, and Lazy are easily the best tracks here imo. Wish I could get into Lullaby

The 3 albums after this, C’mon, and Invisible Way are all 2.5-3 territory but they have some great songs worth building a playlist out of

For me it’s: HEY WHAT > Double Negative >> Drums n Guns > Ones & Sixes > What We Lost > this > everything else
