I guess he thought those good songs were good enough to drag up the rating.

When I said the album as a whole is pretty weak, I didn't mean I said I thought it was bad, I just meant compared to their other albums it didn't seem as good when I listened to it all the way through, but it does have some of my fav. SOAD songs on it.

Toxicity and Self titled are a lot better than those two. I think this is a little better than mezmerize.

Well those two albums are what make SoaD imo. If you have any interest, get them, as you won't be disappointed.

TERRACOTTA PIE!

But in all seriousness, too many power chords. I would've liked to see them continue developing their tremolo picked riff adventures of Mezmerize, but oh well.

System of a Down?s third studio album, Mezmerize (of which Hypnotize is the companion), came a full three and a half years after its predecessor, Toxicity
What about Steal this album? Wasn't that their 3rd album? Mezmerize is a lot better than Hypnotize IMO

Technically I guess it was. But I think I remember hearing STA! was more or less a compilation of songs not used on Toxicity. I don't know for sure though.

I'm not usually one for mainstream rock, but this record (and this band's first S/T one) are really good for the genre they've been thrown into. Good review, too.

Mezmerize had some good songs, but not nearly enough for it to be a good record.

I still dont think this is as good as their Debut and MEzmerize, i find those are their only long lasting albums.

I also people are going to the extreme by putting 5 or 1 star, if you dont like the band then dont put a one because you dont like them, better yet, dont buy the album. IF you like this album.. DONT GIVE IT 5! its not even close to a classic album. MEzmerize is pretty much 5 times better than Hypnotize.
