This is way better than I thought it’d be. I was expecting more gay “djun djun the triangular machines are re-aligning the un-perspectives” crap
But this is at least bi, if not full straight

Early Tesseract and Vildhjarta kind of stand aside from the periphery school of djent. Check out Fellsilent if you dig this - it was sort of the predecessor project to this and Monuments and it’s way heavier.

Yeah this is pretty distinct from Misha-core I think. Acle, Misha and Chimp Spanner pretty much invented the shit iirc, each took it a pretty interesting direction.

I think this is what periphery was going for, but misha’s head is too far up his own ass

He seems like a pretty fantastic dude from literally everything I've ever seen or read about him.

cool album. do think it being essentially an old ep with new songs written around it kinda works against it hot damn do lament, nascent and eden have it

wow reading back through this thread tesseract taking forever to do great things is the norm i guess lmao
this is one album im glad to have not gotten in the context of when it came out honestly. the way this record is structured is fine to a newcomer now a decade removed but getting this fresh and only having 5 new songs woulda annoyed the hell out of me

The sweet spot was discovering this band on this release, not the EP.

I get that this record holds a special place in the hearts of of TesseracT fans, but for me, this one is mostly okay with 'April' being the big standout. Lyrically, it feels like it was written by a completely different band from the rest of the album.
