I used to listen to fortress to work out to. I tried this album to run to, and realized I needed to go back to grind.

I rated after 4 listens to this album, to whomever was complaining. I've since listened maybe a half dozen more times before giving up.

I actually think that Rody's lyrics are similar to the style that Keith Kuckley has in Every Time I Die. Even when thye are silly, they are self-aware, honestm and succint that they come across more serious than they would be if it was a different band or a different style. This album is the first PTH I've ever listened and I like it a lot. Some of the music is similar to the new Scale The Summit as well.

This has really grown on me, I used to think it was terrible.

i don't get what's to hate about this band unless you're the scrooge or something and you don't like having fun.

they used to bore me but then one day i was just really feelin' it in my friends car and i never looked back. i think fortress is the better album though. this still might grow on me but i find that after i listen to this, parts of fortress get stuck in my head instead of parts of this. maybe its jus a familiarity thing though, we'll see i guess.

The problem with this album is that it was almost impossible for them to improve on a technical level so they had to progress on another basis.

PtH bring the 'fun' in their music.

yah i'm not a big btbam fan either, the reason i can dig pth is because they seem to have so much fun being a ridiculous, over the top, cheesy tech metal band that i can't help but be won over by their attitude. i'm not saying btbam aren't also having fun, but i just don't feel it in their music when i listen to it.

the silent circus is sick as fuck though

yeah, that's legit. i just see it as devoid of the bs that overflows from their subsequent releases. its still a little overwrought and ridiculous, but it has some power to it that's missing on their other work. there's some real human emotion in there.

lol i like the vox on that better than on their later albums. he sounded like shit sometimes but at least he didn't sound exactly the same for the entire album.

I think sputnik users are biased when it comes to this band.

this album isn't THAT bad! and their other albums aren't 5 star material as some people make it out to be.

well kezia is a 4-4.5 for me and fortress is a 3.5 so that gives you an indication how biased i am.
