Hated Arcade Fire four years ago when I first downloaded and listened to all their albums and decided to check them out again seeing if there was just something there I wasn't getting the first time. Nah, this band and this album are still pretty darn lame.

@FoS yeah, by all means I should love this album but I just can't stand it.

@Boney, I even gave this record the benefit of the doubt and sat through the whole thing instead of tapping out after a few songs. I just don't get the appeal of it, I guess??

This is a beautiful record, it's survived numerous "cuts" from my old music taste. All I want to listen to now is punk & metal (mostly) & this still rules.

Vocals are fine and the lyric sheet as a whole is pretty solid. It just seems really... boring and ordinary to me. I just don't see a lot of the stuff everyone praises it for so it just kinda flashes by without doing anything memorable for me beyond the opening track, wake up, and backseat.
