God Hates Us is really the only song that I really like on the cd a lot because Matt can actually scream on it. I hate his singing voice so I'd rather him scream more often.

fiction and so far away are epicness

fiction being the last song the rev had wrote 3 days before he passed was first titled "Death" Fiction is a nickname the rev had given himself. the whole song is very haunting in a sense, especially during the revs vocal part.

I felt this album was really not that good. I don't like this band, but I have to give them some credit, and this isn't one of them. I thought this album was just a further example of a douchey pop metal band that puts too much emphasis on melodic vocaling and choruses.

this album becomes so much more amazing if you lose a close one.

like one of my best friends killing himself a week ago... this album and i won't see you tonight parts 1 and 2 get to me, not gonna lie.

oh and save me, welcome to the family, so far away, fiction, and danger line are the best. probably in that order. the whole album is good though sooo

Nightmare and all the other cd´s of Avenged Senvenfold have always been damn long, 80 minutes is short to A7X. Long music is their special touch as in “Shattered by Broken Dreams”, ”I Won’t See You Tonight”, ”M.I.A”, “A Little Piece of Heaven” and now “Save Me”. It’s always like this. Long musics can’t be heavy all the time, ‘cuz this way they would seem endless. Musics need heavy, calm and fast moments. A7X’s new álbum isn’t lacking inspiration, even with Rev’s death.
Not only “God Hates Us” and “Buried Alive” sound like metal melodic, “Save Me” also has a special metal touch. The second half of Nightmare has three slow and calm musics ("Victim","Tonight the World Dies" and "So Far Away") with a great homage to Rev, where Shadows sings with an awesome feeling.
Portnoy did a great job in this cd keeping the same drum style of Rev, we can think it was Rev himself that recorded the full álbum. I’m missing so much Rev’s backing vocal but unfortunately he sings only in “Fiction”, recorded a few days before his death.
Nightmare will not be A7X’s best cd ‘cuz “City of Evil“ and “Waking the Fallen” are better cd’s, but I believe a lot of people will like it.
