It is a shame so many people negged this review just because they disagree with the rating. This truely is a very well written review.

"matt heafy's a dickhole"

Yes, he is, but personally I always listen to the music and see if its good rather than judge the artist's character. Some very good music is made by complete aszh0les.

He just comes off really egotistical and full of himself in interviews, especially the way he builds Trivium up to be something they're just not. Think of the way Tom DeLonge built up Angels And Airwaves, except not quite as bad...
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Trivium's music, but they're nothing new or particularly awe-inspiring.

Yeah, but they're not THAT good. There's loads of better guitarists out there, although for my money Corey is better than Matt.
What I do like is that they shred within the context of a song, not just for the sake of shredding. Pretty much every note they play is in service of the overall song, so that's good.

I disagree with this review though it was well written. Trivium have a lot of talent and I personally think this album is the better of the two trivium albums thusfar. The guitar work and vocals are both great. However from what I've heard of the new stuff off the album "The Crusade" the vocals are terrible

Everyone who says Matt Heafy is a dickhole is a hypocrite...they cannot except that he is really talented at what he does. He has acceptable beliefs - so why defecate all over him? TriVium are the pioneers of a new age of technical, melodic and well thought out music...

Change tends to bring controversy.

Nnnno they're not.

Nnnno he doesn't.

Most of us are fully capable of divorcing the artist from the art. But that doesn't mean we have to like Heafy's douchebaggery. In fact, one could argue that his ego is actually holding the band back.

So perhaps you should stop trying to justify his bullshit because he doesn't need your defense. Additionally, you shouldn't make Trivium out to be something they're not. There are far better, more exciting bands in modern music than Trivium, many of which are ahead of their time. This Message Edited On 06.28.06

Pull harder on the balls of your father indeed.

Matt Heafy is more arrogent than Malmsteen, and with a tenth of the skill.

Pathetic.

Shit band.
