Oh, but I hardly consider a short album a problem. Quite the opposite.

A short album full of fantastic tracks is also full of replay value, so I'll side with shorter albums too. To be honest I could cut either Straight Through The Heart or Gypsy from this one and I wouldn't feel that guilty.

"I don't either really, but when choosing between two records such as these, both containing their share of fantastic moments, I suppose I do tend to go for the longer one."

Then 5 both hehehehe

In the case of Rising, it isn't all fantastic stuff though.

I certainly would.

In the end it comes down to the style of the album, and I prefer the guitar work on Rising.

Rising also has that epic vibe with its strings and synths

This would rank 4th for me among albums Dio was involved in, behind Rising, LLRnR and H&H

If I had to choose purely on musical content I'd agree with Nero and Sevengill. But this is more iconic than any Dio-related album with the exception of Rising.

I'd say Rising is his best-anything. The Mob Rules was my introduction to him, though.

Rising is probably the best anything.

"I'm just going to be honest and say that I'm not a big fan of Dio's voice or singing. It all seems so boring and one-note to me"

You mean in here right? cause I thought you liked Rising
