this entire thread took a turn for the weird last week and never recovered... although the point snave brought up at the top of this page is pretty interesting subject matter. We've seen artists comment on their own threads here before (Bulldog/SwagChef knows what I'm talking about -- Tony Moon), but I wonder how much the anonymity factor plays into how we criticize music on this site -- if it was assumed that the artist you're talking about was reading everything, would we voice our opinions differently? My guess it depends on the artist.
and yeah, pretty sure that was the real Mac -- which is awesome.

I'll be over later to impale your tonsil ball with my love piece later. I call it "The Surge Protector." Or just "Sergio" for short.
Made me laugh. Seems like a cool guy.

Inveigh, I really appreciate you pushing this album like this. Slowly but surely, because of people like you, my decision to be completely independent and on my own is really paying off.
I just linked this review on my message board.
I think you are going to really love Irish Goodbye. In all honesty, maybe even more than this album. Or at least as much. It's so much more visual and dense. More stories, enhanced stream of consciousness and virtually no pop-culture references or hare-brained missteps attempting to generate commerce.
Thanks man!
-Mac
I just wanna go ahead and point out again how cool that is. Keep It Irish had a lot of good tracks (and apparently these are the ones that didn't make the cut???) so needless to say, I'm beyond psyched for Irish Goodbyes. Thanks for the love Mac

Why? If it were Mac all he is doing is promoting himself and reducing himself to the level of some dick with a laptop and an axe to grind. I'll admit that nothing would be cooler than having the artists we debate hop on these boards and talk about their music, but thats not what hes doing.
Probably because you're being quite the dick.
Also, if that was Mac that's awesome.

Refreshing, is it not?

Oh, if only all artists went out of their way to validate trolls. How much time do you think he spends on the internet looking for people that are talking about him? Anybody want to actually talk about music? If not, I can continue ruining this board.

Mac's post was about music... yeah snave, review this ish -- let's get an opposing point of view
|

fair enough. I look forward to the reactionary trolling that will inevitably plague its discussion board. I'll try to get the review out by the end of the week. And Mac Lethal sucks.

yeah yeah, we get it, you don't like Mac Lethal, Eminem's new album is awesome etc.
you should make a 'snave's favorite artists' list

This is what you mean? This isn't talking about music, this simultaneously self-promoting and agreeing with my earlier criticism of his existing body of work. And thank you, I know you hate eminem dude, but at least inveigh has actually mentioned something related to music. This is slowly turning back into a sputnik board

If I was an independent artist I would be self-promoting the shit out of myself on boards like this.

yeah it's not like Mac has a record label funding his shit... he's handling business Fugazi-style
but the question would be: what are you looking for in his music that you're not finding? and further -- how do you consider his music self-indulgent yet find Eminem's to be artistic?
|
| |
why? Everyone on this board has already made up their mind about mac. Anyone here a business major? This isnt a viable market.
