so far I like this better than travels or lost ground.
which says something because they're two of my favorite pieces of music ever.

@andcasthe concepts a little more clearly, if u still wanna know, are
Travels-kid in the 60s with a drug addict mom, stepbrother and drunk dad. Kills the dad in a fight with a bottle of jack, runs away cant find redemption, returns to the town, gets in a fight with his brother who gets hit by a train. Finds redemption and then commits suicide.
Lost Ground- black war vet in the 60s who starts off not goin to war, then goes, sees the horrors, loses his squad, rejected by society, looses hope but then finds some in the eyes of others like him (presumably guys like the narrator of Travels). The ending of lost ground has a slight tie in with the middle part of Travels.
Endless...-is Travels form the brothers point of view and the most despairing/emotional of the three

I think that's the one thing that Defeater was really missing a bit of - that gripping emotional hold on the listener. Travels and Lost Ground were intense and kickass for sure, but this takes their game to a whole different level.

Damn I have been waiting for this album for so long but I can't enjoy it properly because I am so obsessed with Pinkerton that I would rather listen to it somehow.

Pinkerton's a good album to be obsessed with.
I might 4.5 Empty Days eventually but I already 4.5'd Scurrilous after hearing both of them for the first time today and PTH have a habit of sucking me in immensely when I listen to them. I listened to it 6 times today. I've only listened to Empty Days 1 1/2 times.
