How does rank as far as their previous albums?

Well personally I think both Vheissu and TAITA are better, but after that its about on par with the best of the rest. Obviously its a much more alt-rock directed album than anything else they have done but if you liked Vheissu and TAI's Earth EP then you should like this.

Vheissu is slowly growing on me so I'm guessing this will take time to do that as well. I kinda wish the band had stayed with their sound on TAITA, but that's just me.

I understand that, I guess as Vheissu was my first Thrice experience outside TIA it kinda stuck and I can't help compare the other albums to (IMO) their best work. I'd say Beggars is much more Earth influenced than a direct continuation of Vheissu but yeah there's not really a lot of similarity to TAITA.

Mm, I listened to this again and it sorta stuck me that this is Thrice's weakest effort. And it's not just 'cause they went in a softer direction - I adored Air/Earth for their experimentation, but here I think their relying a tad too much on their newfound groove to pull the record through. It works, but not to the same effect as what they've managed before. Still a great listen.

Good review. I do not know Thrice to such extent. I realy dig that post-harcore thing right now. The Alchemy Index were OK but Beggars is on a another level to me. Time and mood, i guess. How come no comments on the last song ? To me, Beggars is arguably the best song Thrice have recorded.

The more I listen to this, the more I wonder if I should bump it up to 5.

The bonus tracks I got... That were not on the physical cd... Are tits. I come when the "All The World Is Mad" and "Circles" remixes come on.

Don't really get the hate for "Doublespeak." One of the better songs on here IMO.

I'm not a huge fan of Dubspeek. But it really isn't bad. Just not as good as some of the other tracks.
