The good parts of this stay amazing, but the bad/insignificant parts stay too bad and insignificant.
Still, the good cuts (Bear, Kettering, Wake, Epilogue, Two) are so immaculate and quotable I'm totally stuck for a best lyric from the album. It's probably in Wake though.

"When your helicopter came and tried to lift me out, I put its rope around my neck" is my personal favorite
I'm surprised no Sylvia or Shiva on there

This album is cute, in that dying kind of way

Shiva just gets lost in between Two and Wake. Atrophy is boring as shit and far too long. Sylvia has never seemed that important a track to me. Thirteen is filler. Prologue is, well, not even a track.
These are my issues with this 'classic' album.

Sort of agree on Shiva cause Two and Wake are my two favorites here, Atrophy took a really long time to grow on me so I do see where you're coming from.

Bear is so pretty, I think it's my favorite song off this

I love Atrophy. I love Sylvia. Prologue sets the mood/atmosphere for the entire album after it. It's always kind of reminded me of a funeral song because he rarely speaks in present tense it's always past tense, so it's like he's looking at her grave and retelling how their relationship just became entirely broken. Thirteen really seperates the poppier tracks and nails the theme of the album home, plus the vocals at the end of it are awesome.
Idk if you like ambient music but if you don't then I can see why you have beef with this album.

My favorite part on this album is when Thirteen ends and you hear the opening guitar of Two. It's like the start of act two or something if you know what I mean when you know the patient's going to die.

"Little porcelain figurines, glass bullets you shoot at the wall
Threats of castration for crimes you imagine when I miss your call
With the bite of the teeth of that ring on my finger, I'm bound to your bedside, your eulogy singer
I'd happily take all those bullets inside you and put them inside of myself"
"So I lie down against your back, until we're both back in the hospital
But now it's not a cancer ward, we're sleeping in the morgue"
Best two lyrics.
Agreed with Romulus. It does seem rather split up.

He sings with such conviction. It hurts my lovebox sometimes.
