Very overrated for the most part. In general, this is a radio stations wet dream. Heavy Metal and Hard Rock w/ plenty of catchy songs, shorter running times, nothing violent or dangerous and lyrics that are half assed and have no meaning whatsoever(w/ an exception of Unforgiven and The God That Failed). But to give them credit this has great sound quality. Guitars are heavy, bass is heard/felt and the drums pound, not click or sound like a garbage can. Good starting point for Metallica listeners, but this in no way compares to their earlier releases.

This album has some amazing songs like 'Enter Sandman', 'The Unforgiven' and 'Nothing Else Matters' but not all of the songs are at this level which pulls the album down as a whole.

Struggle Within is probably the most underrated song on this

My favorite songs on this are My Friend of Misery, The God that Failed and Struggle Within.

Enter Sandman and Sad But True are actually two of the weaker tracks IMO. Along with Holier Than Thou. Hah, basically, the album picks up quite a bit after the first 3 tracks.

I like every song on this except for My Friend of Misery and The God That Failed. Funny world we live in, eh?

Enter Sandman, The Unforgiven and Nothing Else Matters are definitely the best and not because they are the most popular. I don't give a shit if they're popular or not, they're great songs.

It's not *that* bad, but it's not that good, either. I wish they'd stayed thrash. Hell, I wish Cliff hadn't gotten thrown out the bus window, but that's not going to make it happen :-( This is more a bastardized thrash album with mainstream injection.
