Choir sounds like an important player in the whole atonal riffing game, perhaps

First 4 Peste Noire albums, Vehemence and Suhnopfer are good ones to start with.

yeh no dis is the first 5/5 ive heard in years m/ m/ i love how the guitars warble like howling wintry winds in glaciated tundra, and the drummer just spaffs out a smorgasbord of cute lil nibbly midtempo cymbal hits and fills. absolutely fucking delectable boiz

cant mention one song without mentioning another thats how hard this fucking rips. choir of the dead, axis, our blessed frozen cells, procession of dead clowns.. all of which is le fabrique de la titty of da goddess of all thvngs trve m/ m/

When I first heard choir of the dead late at night it actually made me unsettled, It autoplayed on youtube and I had never heard anything like it, didn't know music could be so haunted sounding

Now it's like a lullaby

Not really, its still some of the most inhuman sounding music thanks also to the drum machine

vindsval basically pioneered a whole branch of black metal with Mystical beasts of rebellion and this, as far as I can tell nothing like it really existed before

And he's still putting out good shit the bloody legend

yeh im not well versed in the overlap of le development of french bm but surely a record like this wouldve heavily influenced the likes of deathspell omega, paysage d'hiver, darkspace and esoctrilihum just to name a few french frogs and frog adjacents

These guys, Mutiilation and the whole LLN movement pretty much pioneered French bm yeah.
