Ah shit I’m too fat to fit into these Emotional Pants

Randomly gave this a spin for the first time in awhile. And what a ridiculously hard-hitting, spine-chillingly emotional powerhouse.
In short, great fucking album.

Every track is a hard hitter. Understanding, Paris in Flames, I Am the Killer, Long is the Night, Cross Out the Eyes, A Hole in the World (A Hole in the Earth)…every fucking track.
I’m sitting here wondering why the hell I don’t have this at a 5…must have been a reason. Or maybe I was an idiot.

I had this sitting at 4.5 until very recently. I've repeated the album too many times not to feel some type of way about it, it's just one of those few that's always going to sound classic to my ears.
No one talks about it but Wind Up slaps so hard when the song picks up

Yeah Wind Up is actually the one track I’m not crazy about. But it’s still solid as hell! Maybe it just hasn’t hit me the right day and in the right mood yet.

I feel exactly this every time i listen to this and i already have it 5d!
Might be one of my all time favs honestly.
Wind Up goes hard.
I love albums like this where every song is so good that personal favorites varies from each listen

Yeah man, so fucking consistent. And yes, some tracks that I formerly ranked a little lower are suddenly jumping to some of my favorites on the album.

For me ND, War, and CE edge this out, but this has some solid tunes

With this band there are no right or wrong answer because each album is such a vibe

Damn. I like War and CE, but think those are their weakest. But getting down to it, I still think No Devolucion is their masterpiece. Truly their brightest moment. And Application for the Release from a Dream could be their best song. Best random single I’ve ever heard. My brother the failure is another phenomenally good deep-ish cut.

Yeah I can agree on that.

one thing is for certain: A City By the Light Divided is underrated AF

Most definitely. Takes a little bit to grow on though. Didn’t love it on first listen for sure. But that’s a compliment if anything.
And honestly, I might have to eat my words: in a world where Turnpike Divides exists, in good faith I’m not sure I can call Application their best song. Strong runner-up imo.

Application was such a great comeback song. Was one of my listened to songs that year
Hope they will make another album one day

'one thing is for certain: A City By the Light Divided is underrated AF'
It's gotta be my 3rd most-listened to album of theirs.

Yup, Application was my most listened to track on Spotify that year!
A new album would be phenomenal. I hope and pray for a new Thursday album and new Brand New album as I’m not sure that either is likely.
But considering No Devolucion was their best work and then Application, seems to me they were only getting better and truly hitting their stride.
