Remember first hearing nile on mtv's headbanger's ball when I was a teen. They showed sacrifice unto subek and I was completely awestruck at how insanely technical it was. This was at the same time I thought Ill Nino was the heaviest shit.

Guys, please check out their debut! Way more raw and less technical. but it sounds a lot more organice than the machine like Kollias-era stuff. Also it has the best integration of middle Eastern musical (as opposed to thematical) influences into the metal songs of all Nile. The tribal break in 'Opening of the mouth' for example is working incredibly well in this dark and raw death metal context.

yeah this is actually pretty sick. The first few times I've listened to Nile I thought there's some good stuff but then I found the interludes in songs to be a distraction. This album is really solid tho
