album totally needs a reshuffle tbh since the second half is so clearly "where all the singles are supposed to go". always thought those songs would work better in the front of the album
been fucking around with the tracklist for a while lately. here's what I got
side 1
1 magical mystery tour
2 fool on the hill
3 strawberry fields forever
4 penny lane
5 hello goodbye
6 all you need is love
side 2
7 only a northern song
8 baby your a rich man
9 blue jay way
10 I am the walrus
11 it's all too much (extended version)

No offense Onion, but putting 0 George songs on Side 1 and 3 on Side 2 is uneven as hell

There's a lack of Paul on side 2 and a ton of side 1.
Swap Penny Lane and Only a Northern Song and it should be great

definitely the second best Paul song on here after Penny Lane, then again there's not much competition cos Hello Goodbye is by the numbers generic trash

I've been caught in a huge Beatles binge in these days. Haven't spun this in at least a couple of years (last fm says the last time I listened to a song off this is 2015) but now I can't get enough of it.
Strawberry Fields Forever is a little masterpiece, crazy to think this is the same band that made the pre-Rubber Soul stuff (or even pre-Revolver). Also Flying is such a soothing piece, I could loop it forever

The clavioline flourishes in Baby You'Re a Rich Man give the song a lot of character. I love how cohesive the LP sounds, there's a recurring tense/pastoral feel that makes it very addicting for me

I think I must've been about 13 and 'Strawberry Fields' was a tab of acid that apparently turned "everyone into a strawberry" when you dropped it.
Sounded delightful, the reality was I'm still sectioned some 25yrs later.
