Didn’t enjoy this as much as LP5 or Tri Repetae. It sounds like very palatable background music, almost forgot it was on at times.

Definitely not even close unless you need sending to sleep perhaps. Nice, chilled, pleasant & relaxing (read: mostly boring).

Every post-2000 lp is better except Oversteps and maybe Quaristice

Incidentally if you want more of this sound Oversteps comes kinda close

Yeah I just heard a few songs and I change my mind it's better than this

This is my least favorite Autechre outside of Incunabula

This is more enjoyable (relatively) as background music, definitely better than I initially thought.

This is a hella improvement over Incunabula

That being said it’s still pretty primitive compared to the crazy shit they’d start churning out later

Damn, that's fucked up man. I love Incunabula, probably even more than Amber. But yeah these earlier albums are a great deal more accessible because the songs are still immediately identifiable as songs... it seems like every album they've made has been more difficult to digest than the last.

Like elseq 1–5 I don't even try... I'm still processing Exai and however many other albums before that

This was great. Can't tell which one of the first two I like more, but this clearly has a more apparent personality. Also, this didn't feel long at all for me. Kept me engaged and committed all the way until the end.

Finally I dug this album out again after many years. around 10 years ago I wasn't ready for it and found it boring, but since then I discovered maybe a hundred atmospheric electronic albums (ambient, psybient, psydub etc), also many idm artists I love (Radian (idm & post-rock), Gridlock, Stendeck, Hecq, Proem, Maps And Diagrams, The Flashbulb, Architect (DE), Alva Noto, Kangding Ray, Frank Bretschneider, Robert Lippok, Vladislav Delay, Byetone and more).

Finally I understand the album and the atmosphere unfolded (reminds me of a very cold sunny day in december), the song Piezo for example is amazing. The album takes me to the far future where everything is coated in ice and crystal, even the sun is made of a snowflake.
