It's a sign of what lies beneath. It's like a Wrath of Khan style ear slug but in stag beetle form. Here to crawl down your ear canal and cause havoc with your mind.

Underrated? Everyone knows it's Mezzanine when they see the artwork. Those in the know know how iconic it is.

Sgt Peppers, Darkside, Nevermind, The original Appetite for Destruction, London Calling. Great album artwork was prime topic of discussion back in the day.

New page! Risingson is pretty much a perfect song. It makes want to slowly exhale smoke for 5 minutes.
Rating is because I've always lost attention as this album went on.

yeah Eg, Blue Lines holds my attention no problem but this starts sliding into the Del Naja solo wormhole where he'd get lost next.
Like the Wu Tang they were greatest on their debut when operating as a true collective. Tricky was their ODB figure (Maxinquaye also bosses this imo, and probably tops even Blue Lines its that good)

Maxinequaye was the best back in the day but this one has aged to perfection.

Blue Lines sounds the most dated but that's it's charm.
This is the most 1998 sounding album ever, dropping a year after Ok Computer, Portishead s/t and about the same time as Psyence Fiction. Portishead Third was similarly dystopian and sounds way more post 2000 than this
Maxinquaye's appeal has remained the most timeless for me
They're all great albums though and this one has definitely aged the least in sput years, gets much love

Yr an idiot doofus.
Also u do realize they were still a 'true collective' on this album right? The only original member not present is tricky
It's after this that mush left and daddy g took a leave
