amazing lyrics, the best drumming on any BDM CD to date (including deflorate), some weird fast, but extremely melodic songs like deathmask divine and noctural, keep this album from getting old. i still love it. every song is different in its own way. i think this was at the band's prime.

i know i'm years late with this but earlier in the comments some people said the drumming on this was not that good and Shannon's work on The Fall of Ideals was better. ARE YOU DEAF? probably don't know the first thing about playing the drums. the drumming on this album is ridiculous. nocturnal, warborn, and deathmask divine all have stupidly good death metal drumming. use your ears.

I love Trevor's vocals. Probably my favorite death metal vocalist.

@ easternlight: If you think these vocals are shrill, give Anaal Nathrakh a listen.

Ugh watered-down gothenburg. His yappy vox also annoy me. On their first album the vox actually sounded At The Gates-esque, but now they've progressed into a Dani Filth-esque whine.

His vocals really weren't that good on the first album tbh. They've gotten better with each album.
