About time we had an anti-christian debate on sputnik. Such a lowbrow religion, am I right?

I don't think there are lowbrow religions (except scientology) only lowbrow people

Wise comment. Religions in general are actually fascinating to study from many points of view.

I'm only into those religions you find hidden in the depths of obscurity, but then I cannot divulge the specifics through the fear of being discovered / tainted by popularity

Religions are in fact fascinating until you get stoned or crucified or other shenanigans. Then inconvenience sets in. Some find in fun though.

OK but lowbrow people are often Christians.

There is in fact well documented negative correlation between intelligence and religiosity. But what I would like to see is data on correlation between religiosity and ability to throw objects with force accurately.

The red line lies in believing a particular religion's set of dogmas as the universal truth, not to mention believing in invisible forces/beings speaking to you... That's actually a sign of a certain mental illness unless you say the voice comes from a particular god/spiritual force (which makes no sense at all).

"but I heard that you get stoned > find god"

I haven't just heard it, I've witnessed it too many times. Another reason why I'm reluctant to take drugs

Brain can get fucked up pretty bad with certain substances

"OK but lowbrow people are often Christians."

you must have met some pretty shitty people then. Unlucky for you. Though I have had the misfortune of watching some flat earth debates and they often source the bible as part of their proof, which is a fallacy, at best, and furthermore there isn't any text in there that explicitly says that anyway...

Never said they were shitty?

But it's logical to assume that most Christians don't know much about history or science.
