Honestly no, In a Jar by Dinosaur Jr. is way better than She's a Jar by Wilco, but nice try :P

Idk, maybe my ears are broken but the production and vocals are terrible and while I get that there's a certain appeal in that for some, for me it just makes this not very enjoyable to listen to. The songwriting is super bland too. Some of the guitar work is neat but that's not enough. I won't discredit this album for the influence it clearly had but I'm not going to say I particularly like it.

Sounds better in theory than it does in practice I guess.

Have his vocals gotten better over time? I know he's done some acoustic stuff more recently but I can't imagine that being terribly enjoyable unless he's become a somewhat conventionally better singer.

Boney this is the quintessential slacker '90s delivery - it's meant to be half-assed, sleepy and sloppy.

An acquired taste maybe, in the late '80s and '90s it just sort of made total sense.
