Lol and both Denver and Cleveland scored more than KC's highest points all season and that was a turnover-laden shitshow
Mickey mouse ass 11-1 record LOL

looking like you're not going 'all out' and winning by mostly narrow margins just proves to me something we already know... they know how to win. It's a bit weird claiming an 11-1 team aren't that good, especially when said team usually takes home the Championship.
And yes, their defence has been better than their offence for two straight years but that's not a reason to discount their record. Will they come unstuck this time? Maybe. I hope so just to see something different. The Bills, Lions & Eagles all seem capable. Maybe a couple of other teams on a good day
One thing that is almost guaranteed - if KC wins again, then we will see 'asterisks' and copium deployed in humongous quantities, it's the same every time

"And yes, their defence has been better than their offence for two straight years but that's not a reason to discount their record."
teams win the super bowl with better defenses than offenses all the time. i was refuting the idea their defense is their weakest link when especially last year it basically carried them to the playoffs.
the chiefs are currently 11-1. teams with their point differential are typically 7-5 on average at this point in the season. they are a respectable team that showed us they can turn it on in the playoffs last year... but despite their record they are also a worse team this year who is struggling in the trenches on both sides of the ball and i just don't see that changing. i simply cannot put them in that lions/bills/eagles tier... hell i don't even know if i like the eagles there.

Lets keep counting out the Steelers. Gonna be glorious when Russ drops a 40 burger on them in 3 weeks.
|
| |
mahomes has never put up less than 36 points on us so i sure hope so
that'll surely be the week their offense gets rolling lmao
|
| |
on a serious note i'm def chalking up the steelers putting up 500yds and 44 points on the bengals as defensive malpractice on the bengals end vs some offensive revelation.
nice to see were capable of that against a historically bad defense but i think in reality we lean much closer to how we looked against cleveland the week previous. were prob the most boom-or-bust offense in the league. were either going 3&out or were driving the length of the field in 6 plays. living and dying a little too much by the moonballs for my liking but i can hardly complain considering the past five seasons.

It's effective sure but it's weird how Mahomes can get away with playing worse than multiple rookies and still get called the goat
|
| |
who is he playing worse than from this year's rookie class and who exactly is calling him that? because are you really going to come out and say drake maye or caleb williams are playing better ball than him?
|
| |
and please do not say bo nix is better than him, because that is beyond delusional
|
| |
Bo Nix and Jayden Daniels have both had multiple better statistical weeks than Mahomes. Patrick's best overall statistical game this season was 11/4 against Tampa Bay - 34/44, 291 yards (he did get 306 against LV), 3 TDs, 4 sacks allowed, and a rating of 116.8. Nix has had 4 games with a higher passer rating (Nov 17 vs Atlanta being a big standout game for him, 4 TDs which is higher than Mahomes' season high per game in 2024, 84.8% completion pct, and 307 yards which is also 1 above Mahomes' season high this year) and Daniels has had 2. I think the fact it's even close is crazy given Mahomes' reputation. I'm going off the numbers, they have had multiple better games which is nuts to see this early in their careers.
Funny enough, Caleb had 2 games with a higher passer rating - 126.2 against Carolina and 124.4 against Jacksonville. Drake Maye hasn't had one game ahead of 116.8, so he's out of contention.

mahomes has had a disappointing season by his standards but he's been playing well in the last month. qbr is a much better metric and it has him at 9 in the league which sounds about right. not a perfect metric but filters out a lot of garbage time/inflated stats and takes into account game situation value.
in comparison on the season jayden daniels 5, drake maye 14, bo nix 17, caleb williams 26.

I should also state that all the complaints about Mahomes is funny when your last ring was won off the back off the hobbled corpse of Peyton Manning
|
| |
Fair enough! By his standards this year has been weak, it's crazy seeing rookies have better statistical games even if some of it's garbage time/inflated stats. Bo's been better for me in fantasy than Mahomes would've been
|
| |
It's ultimately meaningless to chalk it all up to "big numbers go whirrrr" because it doesn't take into account the quality of the win/loss, the factors that go into why they performed that way and whether or not they won or not.
|
| |
"Bo's been better for me in fantasy than Mahomes would've been"
this isn't fantasy though
|
| |
the broncos defense singlehandedly winning that super bowl is one of the most remarkable things in nfl history lol. manning was like jamarcus russell bad and he was fat and on drugs!
|
| |
"I should also state that all the complaints about Mahomes is funny when your last ring was won off the back off the hobbled corpse of Peyton Manning" Yeah I know lol
|
| |
like yeah if we're going off fantasy, Josh Gordon was a fantasy god when he was in Cleveland but look at how many winning seasons we had!
|
| |
I think even outside of that just look at how Detroit's doing with the same record, they're winning way more convincingly for the most part. Though they did kinda luck out against Chicago lol
