There's no risk in the record, no pun intended but seriously it's so painfully safe.

I can't help but think it might be Chino's fault.

it's definitely not their best but it's still pre sweet
"it's so painfully safe."
This and DE seem more safe to me, even though I prefer both to Gore
|

^Agreed w/ all of this, except I'd take Gore over DE

Was hoping someone would say Gore>DE because I agree.

Im digging this as the songs are generally a little longer, and more layered and cohesive and it has a nice post-rock vibe to it whereas DE songs are all real short and fairly simple and the djentiness has lost its appeal altho i still have it as a 4.
Digital bath is still probably better than both these albums combine though

There is no way Gore is better than DE. Gore is so uninspired and overall a mess.( even though i like it). Gore is better than Adrenaline, but that's it.

Gore is seriously the bands most boring release. Hardly any standouts at all

Doomed User and Acid Hologram kick so much ass though.
The rest isn't very impressive , agreed. Ok songs for the most part.

The last two songs on Gore are amazing, but the whole thing's full of highlights. Prayers/Triangles, Hearts/Wires, Xenon, (L)MIRL, it's one of the band's best for sure. Saturday Night Wrist is still my favorite tho

I love it when opinion is so split amongst fans, a sign of true quality methinks

I don't really see how this album is safe at all. Some of the most ambitious and expansive songwriting of their career is on here.

Think he was talking about Gore.

"Im digging this as the songs are generally a little longer, and more layered and cohesive and it has a nice post-rock vibe to it whereas DE songs are all real short and fairly simple and the djentiness has lost its appeal"
Yeah can agree with this. Also agreed w/ Ocean x 1000
