i prefer amnesiac sometimes myself but both have more going for them than in rainbows cd 1
i don't know, this was the first record i got to see the release of after becoming an rh fan in '04 & it just seemed like they streamlined a bit too much, maybe in reaction to the general wide-span experimentation of HTTT (which i liked) - but it just seemed to be missing a certain element that had made my other rh favs so classic, maybe some kind of eeriness?
like i said, a lot of that was on cd2 anyway so bringing that into the picture makes the whole in rainbows thing a lot more of an experience to me
