I think it does apply here, at least to an extent. The solos and mindbending instrumentation could easily have been trimmed down, and nothing would've been lost. It's not anywhere near the worst I've heard in that regard, but there's clearly some bloated wankery here. Still, amazing album.

I think the wankery doesn't really detuct much from the experience. Without it the album wouldn't have as much detail. Though I can see where people are coming from when they say the album feels bloated.
