obviously you've never played a live set. Especially on "Jane Doe" Ballou's tunings are really odd, and would be hard to constantly switch guitars/tune as it would ruin the flow of the album. Some songs that flow right into one another have different tunings. It's not just a difference of Drop D verses standard, on some songs its every fucking string. "Fault and Fracture" is in a ridiculously weird tuning.
