I find it funny how people are taking me seriously about the heaviness of this album. lol

oh shit Nick Menza who I think is one of the most under-appreciated metal drummers and James LoMenzo who isn't incredible, but can hold his own have been jamming and are apparently going to collab on something

would be pretty rad

Chorus of Tornado of Souls is one of my favorites ever. Something about that guitar part.

Yeah those 3 really are the pinnacle of traditional style metal. Not going to find better songwriting.

Then Epidemic of Violence come along but it's Deaththrash so that examples kinda void :/. Yep those 3 are essentials that everyone needs to hear before they die.

1990 was an awesome year for metal. Slave to the Grind went to Billboard #1. What the fuck happened to society's music taste?

@KJ: Napalm Death getting on to BBC was the best thing IMO, wish something like that would happen today.

Yeah that was huge too. Pantera was exploding with Cowboys from Hell in '90 too. '90 was arguably the absolute best year ever for metal. Then things went downhill very quickly as far as mainstream quality and popularity.

@KJ Pretty much. Early 90's had fuck all mainstream wise then Nu-Metal came out which I'm still trying to comprehend how that got so popular. Despite that it had two superb albums out of the genre and was the soundtrack to many old WWF wrestling PPV's which are hard nostalgia.

Painkiller too, good call.

What 2 albums are you referring? I assume LD50 for one. The only other nu-metal album I sincerely respect is Flaw's Through the Eyes.
