This isn't an issue of capacity on my part. There's plenty of emotions and thoughts that go into music that I can appreciate that are not contingent on the identity of the artist. I'm referring to a very specific subset of songs where you identify with the object of the song then have that identification usurped by a revelation about the artist/singer. All of you post as if you have never identified with the object of a song before.
There's no L to take. The only L is the myopism and denial. It's probably just too "icky" to fathom someone's sexual orientation can affect someone's enjoyment of a song. I'm sure some will say it's homophobic or homophobic adjacent, but it's a bigger thing I'm talking about. Again, it's coincidental that it's in this thread where a revelation clearly has resulted in a change of the enjoyment of the music. I'll leave it at that.
