I think Paul was too much of a hippie by the time they made TiA to really give a shit about death metal. I like Carbon Based Anatomy more, because they really leaned into that and gave up on being heavy. The one after was pretty boring, though.

>Exactly. RoadRunner records tanked Cynic, Believer, and Pestilence due to their terrible mismanagement and total inability to understand what it was these three bands were playing. Metal Blade did better with Atheist (Although they destroyed Anacrusis and Thought Industry by trying to sell them the same way they'd sell Fates Warning).

I like reading about the history of all the stuff that wasn't appreciated at the time, or mis-sold to unwilling / closed-minded fans. Yeah, just a blanket statement re what was discussed on the last few pages. The path of time / internet age certainly distorts our views on how a lot of artists are / were regarded and I enjoy having that perspective occasionally.
