I don't dig death metal that much, i like Black metal and progressive metal with a bit of hip hop (the good sort) scattered in there so I'm not gonna 5 this, especially when the two albums that came before it were better.

Individual Thought Patterns in my opinion did the progressive stuff better because the songs were a lot shorter and the soloing in particular was considerably better and the drums were a lot stronger

Human just because its such a fast intense album and the speed it goes by in.

Those two albums are better than Symbolic so it gets a 4. Maybe a 4.5 If i feel like upping it

ITP is more technical but I don't think that means it's more progressive or necessarily better. I like the songwriting and lyrics and certain moments on this more than almost anything else

I don't have a problem with long songs-a lot of black metal drags on and that makes up 90% of my tastes, but i prefer it when a band can pack a hell of a fucking lot into a fucking short album. Don't get me wrong Symbolic is a fucking awesome album but there's just too much fucking drag to it. towards the second half and Crystal Mountain is annoying
