It's crazy to me that people could rate cannibal corpse albums higher than this album. This seems vastly superior to CC in nearly every meaningful category to me.
But alas, people have differing opinions.

If I speak for myself, I have listened to Cannibal Corpse for many, many years and am therefore much more used to their style. That definitely has an influence on my ratings. Immolation is just another death metal band to me. I'm not saying that can't change in the future, but it's how it is for me currently. I mean no disrespect of course.

I'm probably that way with CC. This was probably the first dm album I checked after death's discog. CC's whole aesthetic never did much for me so I waited quite a while to check them. Theyre a great band, which has taken me years to realize, i just dont ever see myself valuing their output as much as some bands, like these guys and gorguts for example.
