I'm not sure...does something like Idioteque still sound cutting edge?

Surely yer let Down's and Exit Music's are certified timeless?

Would you say Let down or Exit Music are particularly 'cutting edge' I dunno? It's all become a mish mash.

Zak I was saying ok computer doesn't need to be cutting edge because for me (and I guess a lot of people) its already proved to be timeless. Kid A hopefully is too but it's too early to know

Exit Music is incredible, people keep bringing up that In Rainbows track All I Need, the last 90 seconds of Exit Music are more powerful than the ending of All I Need but must just be me

on first listen nothing has compared to ok computer for me before or since. It's not my greatest album of all time (although it has been.) When I first played it in '97 the impact was phenomenal, Exit was the highlight of what was a boundary expanding listen back then and yep you're right doof dude the thing is timeless although the dust has long since settled.

I prefer this but the 'impact' doesn't come anywhere near computer.

I probably spin kid a the most but it's the worst of the three.

"Kid A hopefully is too but it's too early to know"

I mean OK Computer is only a few years older than Kid A, I think Kid A is pretty well solidified as a classic by now. Of course it's not necessarily a classic by each person's opinion, but I am certain that it will still be remembered decades on. I wouldn't even be surprised if it ends up being considered more important than OK Computer.

exit music is a slog. song moves along at a really boring pace and is redeemed because the ending is great. not worth getting there though

The point is that you're waiting for that moment, and can feel it coming. I don't remember what it was like to hear it the first time, but every time since I have loved the slow build.

I like the build, the strange disembodied loops and processed funeral choir vibe

I love the way Thom managed to give a great twist on Romeo and Juliet and it doesn't come across as corny in anyway.

Faust Arp gives me a strong Nick Drake vibe.
